A Mythago is an arcane construct native to The Scarlet Principalities.
Due to the cultural significance of ‘stories’ in The Scarlet Principalities, it gives rise to a subtle aura of power similar to the divine belief that empowers deities. The first documented creation of a Mythago is commonly cited to be the work of the Chronicler known only as The Forgotten Prince, during The Purge of Dinsa. Harnessing the rage of Dinsa’s populous as they were cut down, The Forgotten Prince channelled the seething tempests of emotion into a concentrated form, leading to the creation of near-unstoppable golems of arcane energy. The golems proved to be unstable and uncontrollable however, massacring invader and citizen alike without pause, until they were finally destroyed by fellow Chroniclers Vanity of Freedom and Child Dreaming Eternally. While the creation of Mythagos were outlawed for decades, refinement of the practice continued in secret, but while the proscription of their creation was later overturned, many who knew the secret of their creation had been executed, and Mythagos are few and far between in the modern-day Principalities.
